Through the Paleo diet, Jared and I have realized our love for nuts! We love almonds, walnuts, pecans, and macadamia nuts. They all have such a unique taste, and they are all packed with nutrients. I was able to try out some products from Fastachi, a company that specializes in nuts and nut butters. We were able to try a yummy Cranberry Nut Mix, some Handmade Chocolate, and some Mixed Nut Butter, all of which were amazing!
The Cranberry Nut Mix is tart and salty, chewy and crunchy! It contains cranberries, pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, peanuts, red skin peanuts, and sesame peanuts. I love the wide variety of nuts in this one package. The cranberries are a nice touch because they add some chewiness amongst all of the crunchy nuts! This is a great snack to have on hand!! I couldn’t wait to find out what was in this cute little gift box!! I decided it was time to open it up…… Oh my word. Dark chocolate! HAND MADE DARK CHOCOLATE. Yes, we are on the Whhole30, and yes we did eat it. I mean, we had to, for the blog….right?! 😛
We tried the Dark Chocolate with Walnuts and Cranberries. It was soooOOOoOO delicious. I loved the richness of the dark chocolate, and the crunch of the walnuts. The cranberries are a nice, sweet and chewy surprise! This chocolate was great and I would definitely purchase it!!!! You can find this chocolate here. Jared and I fought over the last piece of chocolate… 😛 Okay, well we didn’t actually fight, but we did have to split it in half! Haha!
And finally, for the Mixed Nut Butter! I don’t think you can really go wrong with nut butter, but I thought this Fastachi Nut Butter was exceptional because it contains roasted hazelnuts, salted pecans, roasted almonds, roasted pistachios, roasted peanuts, roasted cashews, and raw walnuts, and nothing else! So many nut butters contain added sugar, but not this one!!! Yay!!
We made some killer smoothies with this nut butter. They tasted like milkshakes…..Woops! Yep, still on Whole30!! Haha! Let’s just say we are on the Paleo30….30 days of Paleo food only. Some of the things we have been eating are really pushing it for Whole30… 😛
So this was my recipe for our smoothies:
2 Frozen Bananas
1 Non-Frozen Banana
2 Cups Almond Milk (We used Vanilla)
1 Heaping Spoonful Nut Butter
2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
5-6 Ice Cubes
1 Tbsp Cacao Powder
I think this smoothie may become a staple in our diet. It’s packed with nutrients, and it tastes amazzzzzzzzing. Even people who don’t like to eat healthy would love this!!! I bought a bunch of spinach today so that I can throw it in my smoothies this week! Yum!!!
